On average, the full test (General, Airframe, Powerplant) takes about 8 - 10 hours, General Airframe or General Powerplant takes about 5 - 6 hours. Powerplant or Airframe added rating takes about 4 - 5.5 hours.
There is not a specific time limit to answer a question or finish a project. The projects and oral questions are randomly generated by the FAA test computer.
We advise you contact LANG DME & AMT SERVICES as soon as you have a date in mind. We try to accommodate applicants' individual needs for scheduling due to work or school. Our weekend times fill up early.
We try to accommodate the needs for test time changes, but changes to test dates should be avoided if possible. There may be a cost assessment for last minute cancellations or changes made within two weeks of the test date.
At the time of scheduling, there will be a request for copies of the required documents. These provide the necessary information for the DME to prepare your paperwork for testing.
Paperwork: All applicants need to bring all paperwork with them that was reviewed during the Pre-test Interview meeting, or which was listed in the corresponding Pre-Test Interview e-mail.
This may include, but is not limited to:

If applicant desires to retest within the next 30 days of the initial test, a letter proving additional instruction for the section(s) failed by an appropriately rated mechanic is required. After 30 days, no letter is needed, however, it is expected the applicant reviewed failed sections.
